New Director Search is Open!

Wells College seeks a director for its Book Arts Center (BAC). The director is responsible for the management of the Book Arts Center including budget and curriculum; arranging for one visiting lecture each semester; working with the BAC Board of Advisors; organizing and running the yearly Summer Institute; training and supervising student workers; designing and printing certificates, broadsides and chapbooks; printing diplomas; ordering and maintaining all supplies; and maintaining and seeing to the repairs of BAC equipment. The director has the opportunity to teach one class per semester and reports directly to the Provost and Dean of the College. Applicants for the position should have a minimum of a master’s degree; excellent skills in binding, letterpress printing and/or printmaking; good interpersonal skills; successful teaching experience in both workshops and semester-long courses; a record of meeting deadlines; and a collaborative spirit. Possibilities exist depending on experience to make additional contributions to the Visual Arts Program through management of the String Room Gallery or involvement with the Graphic Design and Museum Studies minors.
